Overcome Procrastination Through Accountability

Overcome Procrastination

Procrastination can be the number 1 killer in your business and you may not even realize it because you procrastinated on figuring it out.

In 2014 I was stuck trying to figure out why I wasn’t getting the results I wanted so badly to get and then I realized that I wasn’t doing what needed to be done on a daily basis.

I was procrastinating!

What could I do to overcome my procrastination habit?

Accountability

There are tons of techniques to overcome procrastination.

I just found that accountability can really help you stay focused and on task, thus defeating the procrastination giant.

Holding yourself accountable for completing tasks is a game changer if used correctly.

The 3 tips I recommend for establishing some accountability to defeat your procrastination are as follows:

  • Accountability Partner- Getting an accountability partner can be powerful, especially if you find someone with similar goals as you.  I recommend getting someone in your team so that you can push each other on a daily basis.
  • Tracker Sheet- A tracker sheet is so important when you are in business for yourself, especially a network marketing or direct sales business.  This sheet will literally keep progress of everything you are doing to build your business.  I usually track calls, actual conversations, presentations, decisions collected, new team members, and anything else I need to track, depending on what I am building at the time.  If your sheet is empty on Sunday and you don't have any new business, then you won't have to ask why.  You will know where you are struggling and eventually you will know the statistics of your business enrollments, etc.
  • Mentor/Coach- A mentor or a coach can literally change the game for you.  I don't recommend getting a mentor or a coach if you are strictly looking for motivation, but if you are looking for accountability and if you are looking at filling the holes that you missed in your business, then a mentor or a coach can be very useful.  This is the only one out of the three that will probably require money up front.  You get what you pay for so make sure that you find someone that has the skills that you seek and then get ready to be open and coachable.

You are so right about procrastination. It’s a serious business killer. The tracker sheet should be the foundation for anyone looking to build a business online. Great post Jason. Thanks for sharing.
